About Laguna Presbyterian Church

This 100-year-old Spanish mission style building stands proud in the heart of Laguna Beach in Southern California,  where Laguna Presbyterian Church made its home.

This 1927 Spanish Revival Church captures the eye with its bright white exterior, red-tiled roof and beautiful stained glass windows. A rose garden, shaded benches and covered patio invite to relax and enjoy the service. Home to 1,500 visitors, this longtime landmark is an active church and a place for worship, music and weddings and a peaceful place to visit.

Visitor reaction is interesting, but overall positive. Here’s one person’s testimony:
People may go to church to find God but they stay because they find each other.
I’m an atheist, I went to an Alpha religious exploration meeting at Laguna Pres. It went as well as could be expected. They were friendly enough and the food was decent. read more

I love this Google Review from Beth: This community welcomed me when I was a young adult. It is a vibrant, faithful, gracious community of individuals seeking to grow up into Christ and encourage and extend grace to others who are just trying to figure out life and God. This community has a rich history in the roots of Laguna; its early formation as a city. Individual members rallied the call to action in the fire of 1993–and became a place of interfaith caring and compassion for those who lost everything. Laguna Pres was around 12 years be the city was incorporated, I hope it will be around for another 100 year. For 100 years LPC has been inviting everyone to come, just as you are.

Painting Process

Tatyana’s creative process is fluid and intuitive, up until the last moment, everything could change. She works methodically, but passionately, not settling until it feels perfect, some paintings taking years to complete. A prolific painter, similar to her master teachers, Tatyana has many paintings in progress, waiting for the inspiration to progress to the next step.  She uses quality professional oil paints, like Gamblin, Winsor & Newton and Da Vinci and favors Fredrix linen canvas.

Tatyana uses the Old Master’s techniques she’s learned while making replicas at the National Gallery of Art, giving her large scale oil paintings luminosity and depth of color.

In particular, she used Rembrandt and William Turner’s glazing layering techniques to paint seascapes like Victoria Beach Sunset.
