Tatyana personally oversees the photography of her paintings and signs off on the printing proofs to ensure the prints are as close to the original as possible. Jimi Hendrix (1942 – 1970) was an American rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter, who is still one of the most celebrated music icons of the 20th century.  Despite his mainstream career spanning only four years, he became one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of popular music. Jimi Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar with his innovative style. His music, and his epic performances continues to live on in the hearts of people worldwide. Undeniably, timeless anthems such as Purple Haze, as well as memorable shows at Woodstock in 1969 and Monterey Pop in 1967 are true masterpieces. To this day Jimi’s genius lingers in modern pop culture. His image and music style has been an inspiration to contemporary artists and musicians to this day.

Inspiration

Having lived in Seattle, Jimi Hendrix’ birthplace, was like taking a breath of cold fresh air, creatively and culturally. I witnessed the legacy Hendrix left in the hearts of all music lovers. Certainly inspiring! This portrait is my tribute to Jimi Hendrix’ contribution to the world of music.

About the Artist

Russian-born and California-based, Tatyana Zen is a classically trained artist. Tatyana’s background in technology, design and philosophy blends into colorful artistic voice, intricately reflecting different points of view.  In essence, her artwork draws inspiration from the human form, sci-fi, pop-culture, glamour, fashion,  Zen philosophy and everyday life.

Tatyana was fortunate to learn the secrets of Old Masters as a copyist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. She has developed her own painting method to achieve luminosity and depth of color.  A nature lover, Tatyana often incorporates organic elements in her paintings from coffee and tobacco to diamonds and gold.
