As a politician, he was twice elected governor of California. Creative Process

Tatyana’s paintings exhibit stunning effects of light, shadow, color and the natural beauty that she sees in every human soul. She was fortunate to learn directly from the Old Masters by making replicas at the National Gallery of Art, where she fell in love with portrait painting. Following in the footsteps of renown portrait painters, Tatyana’s artistic passion is fueled by her fascination with human emotions, and the eyes, as the “window to the soul”.

Embellishments

For that extra punch and beautiful texture, I use various natural organic materials in my paintings. Dried up flowers, plants, insects, leaves, shels, fur, animal bones and feathers add their unique qualities. For this painting I chose small genuine faceted Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, Sapphires and Gold leaf. Paying homage to the star’s love affair with Cuban cigars and to add authenticity to the piece, I incorporated into the paint tobacco leaf from a real Cuban Cohiba cigar. About the Artist

Russian-born and California-based, Tatyana Zen is a classically trained artist. Tatyana’s background in technology, design and philosophy blends into colorful artistic voice, intricately reflecting different points of view.  In essence, her artwork draws inspiration from the human form, sci-fi, pop-culture, glamour, fashion,  zen philosophy and everyday life.

Tatyana was fortunate to learn the secrets of Old Masters as a copyist at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Furthermore, she has developed her own painting method to achieve luminosity and depth of color.  A nature lover, Tatyana often incorporates organic elements in her paintings from coffee and tobacco to diamonds and gold.
